We're super excited to confirm that Orbitals will have a Global Friend's Pass available on release, which includes a free local co-op demo!!
Global Friend's Pass
The Orbitals Global Friend’s Pass will allow your friend to enjoy the full Orbitals experience at no extra cost.
Only one person will need to own the game, while the other will be able to play via the Global Friend’s Pass app!
Global Friend's Pass Demo
Included in the Global Friend’s Pass app, a demo of Orbitals will be available for anyone wanting to try it out.
The demo will be local co-op only and will allow you and a friend to try out the opening chapter of Orbitals on Nintendo Switch 2!!
The Orbitals Global Friend’s Pass app will be available to download for free on Nintendo Switch 2 from September 3rd via the eShop!
Ways to Play
Orbitals is built from the ground up for two players, so we’ll be outlining the different ways you and your partner can play together depending on what console you have, and who owns the game!
Local Co-op
Local Co-op is available for anyone with a Nintendo Switch 2!
To play locally, all you will need is one copy of the game, a Nintendo Switch 2, and two sets of controllers.
Local GameShare
Local GameShare will allow you to team up with a friend locally on any compatible Nintendo Switch console, including an original Nintendo Switch, a Nintendo Switch Lite, and the OLED model.
Online GameShare
If both you and your teammate both own a Nintendo Switch 2, you’ll be able to play using GameShare online.*
Only one of you will need to own a copy of the game to connect with a friend on another device using GameShare and GameChat. For more information about GameShare, visit https://www.nintendo.com/us/gaming-systems/switch-2/features/gameshare/
Online Play
Similarly to Online GameShare, if both you and your partner own a Nintendo Switch 2 and only one of you, or both of you, owns a copy of the game, you’ll be able to play together online through your owned copies or using the Global Friend’s Pass application!*
To use the Orbitals Global Friend’s Pass, the owner of the game must send an invite to the player that has the Global Friend's Pass application installed. Once the invite is received, your partner can join the entire adventure for free.
*A Nintendo Switch Online membership is required for both players to play online and use GameShare online via GameChat
